This week, almost 70 American oil and gas workers are talking to policymakers about the vitality of America’s strong domestic oil industry to our economic future and the creation of jobs. The workers on Capitol Hill include geolists, landmen, rig workers, petroleum engineers, and others from fifteen states, all discussing the potential of vast shale gas resources.

Jack Gerard, API President and CEO, has addressed the issues arising from Congress’ consideration of policies that will be impacting these workers’ lives. According to Gerard, Congress will be making major decisions in upcoming months, and it needs to hear the voices of the American workers who greatly depend on the oil and gas industry.
